Eminem diminished a large number of rappers on his new album Kamikaze, but one did not hesitate to fire back at the self-proclaimed ‘Rap God’. On September 3rd, 2018 Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly charged at Eminem for mentioning his name with a track entitled ‘Rap Devil’. In the visual released along with the diss record, the rapper can be seen holding a shovel, and a bowl of cereal; calmly mocking some of Eminem’s greatest hits like ‘Lose Yourself’, and ‘Not Afraid’.
The beef stems from a 2012 tweet from Machine Gun Kelly that reads “ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter…and I have to say, she is hot as (explicit), in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king.” At the time of the tweet, Hailie Mathers was fifteen years of age. On ‘Not Alike’ Eminem attacks the rapper for these actions, as well as subliminal disses MGK sent on a feature for Tech N9ne earlier this year. Slim Shady raps:
”He wants to keep up his tough demeanor
So he does a feature, decides to team up with Nina
But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne
If you wanna come at me with a sub, Machine Gun
And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the (explicit) you are, Kelly
I don’t use sublims and sure as (explicit) don’t sneak-diss
But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie”
Machine Gun Kelly pays homage to the veteran rapper while at the same time taunting him. Throughout the track, MGK addresses Eminem for blackballing him from major radio stations and attempting to have his music shelved. He then taunts the rapper on his new appearance, and questions his choices to pick on the younger generation. It is clear that Machine Gun Kelly is gearing up for battle with this legendary emcee, but will he win the war? Tell us what you think!
